Recruiter override
A recruiter override is what an affiliate earns on the sales of the affiliates they recruited. The brand pays it on top of the seller’s commission, only on sales it approves.
Also called: recruitment commission, recruiter commission, tier 2 commission.
Worked example: Your recruit makes 10 sales of $100
- Override per sale (5% of the sale)
- $5
- You earn over 10 sales
- $50
- Your recruit still earns per sale
- $20
In more detail
An override is not a bonus for signing someone up. A recruit who never sells earns their recruiter nothing.
Programs often limit how long it lasts, for example a year from when the recruit joined, so it rewards bringing active partners rather than old sign-ups.
